On the 52nd anniversary of the murder of Communist Leader İbrahim Kaypakkaya, we declare once again that we are persistent, determined and determined on the route he drew.
Comrade Ibrahim became immortal by resisting the heavy tortures of the enemy as a communist who devoted himself to the liberation of the people and drew the path of liberation. He is the leader of a very big historical step that cannot be limited only to his opposition to the system, only to resisting torture. By analyzing the economic, social and class contradictions of the Turkish, Kurdish and working class and laboring people of various nationalities, who were in “optimism, joy of life, dispossession and pain”, he succeeded in theorizing the way to liberation.
Comrade Ibrahim is the theoretical-practical leadership of adapting Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, the universal teaching of the international proletariat, to the reality of the country. The T’K’P and all circles influenced by Marxism have evaluated Kemalism, the founding paradigm of the Turkish rulers, as progressive and revolutionary in opposition to imperialism and feudalism. They reconciled with all the crimes committed by the Kemalist republic, normalized them and even saw them as a necessity for social progress. It described the Kurdish massacres carried out by the Kemalist republic as crushing “feudal uprisings”. This revisionist line constantly pinned its hopes on the reactionary theory that the Kemalist republic would create the possibility of “socialist revolution” by developing the productive forces. In this way, it created a basis for its pacifist, class-compromising approach and alienated the possibilities of revolution. They placed the people’s liberation struggle on an uncertain and impossible theoretical ground.
Comrade İbrahim became a part of the entire youth movement’s search for a revolutionary exit in the midst of the political purification created by the growing revolutionary wave. The guiding force of Comrade Ibrahim’s approach that “there can be no revolutionary practice without revolutionary theory” shaped his revolutionary life. He has a firm belief that advanced revolutionary practices can be directed towards their goals with a developed theory based on social reality. For this reason, he has been in an effort to create revolutionary theory at every stage of revolutionary practice. Throughout his life, he concentrated on the effort to create a revolutionary theory that would lead the revolution and to organize the communist vanguard that would realize it. When he was murdered under torture, he became the most important figure in the history of our revolution as a leader who organized the communist party with the basic theory that was appropriate to social reality.
Comrade Ibrahim, with the revolutionary theory he created, condemned all the fundamental mistakes known to be true. He determined that the true nature of the Kemalist republic from its foundation was a fascist structure representing the reactionary ambitions of the Turkish rulers. He revealed that the Kemalist republic was a political regime that exploited the workers and laborers by putting them under political oppression with a heavy repressive mechanism and anti-communist formation. He pointed to the reality of a semi-colonial semi-feudal social structure that is part of the imperialist chain. Identification of a multinational social structure in which there is a Kurdish nation alongside the Turkish nation is a case of Comrade İbrahim waging a war against all chauvinist and social-chauvinist approaches. He stated that the Kurdish nation was oppressed by the Turkish sovereign nation, oppressed and deprived of its basic rights and turned into a dependent nation. By stating that Kurds have the right to establish a state, he created a unmatched perspective for the Kurdish national awakening.
Comrade Ibrahim defined imperialism, feudalism and comprador capitalism as three mountains that must be destroyed in front of social liberation. He determined that these three mountains will be defeated by the prolonged People’s War to be waged with the perspective of the New Democratic Revolution. He fully realized that without the leadership of the communist party, the struggle for the New Democratic Revolution, Socialism and Communism cannot succeed. These are the most fundamental qualities that distinguish Comrade Ibrahim from the youth leaders of his contemporaries.
He, believed and focused on the fact that a full and strong struggle against pacifism and reformism would be possible by organizing the communist party, which has strong theoretical equipment and dominates the conditions of the country. He acted with the understanding that the revolution and armed struggle are doomed to party leadership. This distinctive feature is the result of understanding MLM, the science of history and society. With this attitude, Ibrahim realized a complete communist break with the adventurous petty bourgeois line and pacifist reformism.
Comrades, Turkish-Kurdish and Working People of Various Nationalities;
In the 53rd year of its foundation, our party once again declares that it is firmly committed to the basic approaches determined by Comrade Ibrahim. Because his basic approaches remain the guide of our political and social revolution.
The imperialist world is in a great crisis and chaos! Great crises are the hotbed of great conflicts and great social upheavals. In order to overcome the crisis of the imperialist system: on the one hand they are mercilessly attacking the vital gains of the working peoples, on the other hand they are sharpening the struggle among themselves! The sharper this conflict becomes, the more they lubricate their war machines! Their war budgets grow, they fill the whole world with weapons! Imperialism means war for hegemony and exploitation.
On the one hand, there are discussions about changing the borders of countries, on the other hand, the crisis is strengthening the climate of war. Threats of war between imperialists are becoming routine. State mechanisms are organized according to the war. All states are preparing the masses politically for a possible war by developing chauvinism. They are eager to liquidate the armed resistance of national and social movements while arming themselves to the teeth! While they damn the arming of the people, they try to convince the people that the best way for them is to arm themselves more, to become stronger! They force the oppressed nations and peoples into absolute submission to their authority! Because when they themselves go to war, the desire of the oppressed to fight for liberation will become stronger, the rebellion will rise in flames! For this, they are trying to liquidate and disarm the organized forces of the people!
They are doing this in Palestine, they are striving for this in the four parts of Kurdistan, they are making this effort in the Philippines and India, they are spreading this wave by wave in Latin America. On the one hand, they are doing this by putting all kinds of force apparatus into use, and on the other hand, they are trying to realize this by strengthening the idea and practice that there is no longer the possibility of revolution, that the contradictions will be resolved by compromising with the ruling powers.
This wave of aggression has encircled the whole world. They are trying to darken the path of liberation for oppressed nations and peoples. With the fuss of reconciliation and peace, they are trying to exploit more, to establish stronger domination and to be more initiative in war. In Turkey, both our social revolution and the Kurdish national liberation struggle are under such a siege of liquidation.
The Kurdish national liberation struggle, which has been waged for 47 years under the leadership of the PKK, has entered a new phase. The line of reconciliation and peace with the PKK, developed by the fascist Turkish state in line with its reactionary and bloody plans in the Middle East, found a response with the call of Abdullah Öcalan on February 27 and the 12th Congress of the PKK on May 5-7. In 1978, the line based on armed struggle under the leadership of an illegal party with the perspective of “Independent Socialist Kurdistan”, “completed its historical mission” and declared the decision to “dissolve the party and the armed struggle” at the 12th Congress of the PKK. The congress decided to continue the struggle by preserving self-organizations and stated that it now “adopts the perspective of a Democratic Republic of Turkey with a Common Homeland and the Kurdish-Turkish peoples as the founding elements and the Democratic Nation understanding as the framework for the solution of the Kurdish question”. This position means that the 27-year theoretical and ideological break with the approach to the real and complete liberation of an oppressed nation has now been completed with its organizational pillar. For the oppressed Kurdish nation, real liberation is possible through the establishment of a status based on “full equality of rights”, including the right to establish a state. The realization of this through war or peace is not decisive, but only possible if the sovereign nation renounces or is forced to renounce all its privileges. The Turkish sovereigns do not show any approach that they have given up all kinds of Turkish sovereignty, including the right to statehood in a multinational structure, and that they have guaranteed this with a contract, and they continue to emphasize that “the state and the nation are Turkish”. They state that the founding values will be preserved and that this is the basis of their existence. The Turkish ruling classes clearly demonstrate their determination to maintain Turkish national sovereignty with the discourse of “Turkish and Kurdish brotherhood”. This approach was voiced by İsmet İnönü during the Lausanne Treaty and by Mustafa Kemal during the debate on the establishment of the Republic. The Kurdish national existence was nominally recognized at that time as well. However, it was used to consolidate Turkish national sovereignty more strongly, to build more rigid denial, and to create opportunities for massacres. This historical consciousness of the Turkish state mind is based on a self-interest. These class interests continue to exist in full force. Unless all the national rights of the Kurdish nation, including the right of the Kurdish nation to establish a state, are recognized in a contract, “coexistence” will mean the continuation of Turkish domination in different forms and the Kurdish nation’s freedom problem will not be solved. The recognition of partial national and cultural rights will not eliminate the reality of the oppression of the Kurdish nation, and in the course of conjunctural developments, opportunities will be sought for the Turkish rulers to ignore and eliminate these rights again.
All the founding elements and foundations of the Turkish Republic, its servitude to the imperialists, its fascist character, its boss-agha domination remain in place. While the entire historical, social, political, ideological structure of the Turkish Republic is preserved and the determination to continue the mission is declared, declaring that the organizations, struggles and means to change it have been abolished by fulfilling its historical mission can only be a situation that binds those who take that decision. This is a will. It can be said that this will is in deep and strong contradiction with historical, political and social realities.
By emphasizing that “the party and the armed struggle” have completed their mission, the PKK binds itself, not the whole. In this respect, developments with their bitter consequences will undoubtedly prove this decision wrong and condemn it.
Undoubtedly, the decision taken involves an ideological stance. With its power and means, the PKK will have an impact on every contemporary movement with its decision to dissolve. Because it propagates that the oppressed nation or people do not need an illegal party organization and armed struggle for liberation, and that this has completed its historical mission. This approach is not new at all.It is an approach that has been influencing, spreading and spreading all over the world for about 35 years.It is a product of the work of imperialist-capitalist ideologists called “the end of history, the triumph of capitalism”.
Our party declares that it will never accept this approach on the 52nd anniversary of the murder of Comrade İbrahim Kaypakkaya and that it will be in a relentless struggle against its ideological effects.Our party has the full understanding that the Kurdish nation, like every oppressed nation, cannot be liberated without gaining full equality of rights, including the right to establish a separate state, and that the laborers of the Turkish nation, as well as the oppressor nation, cannot be freed from the slavery of chauvinism without recognizing these fundamental rights of the Kurdish nation. These conditions mean the usurpation of the freedom of the Kurdish nation and Turkish laborers under the domination of the Turkish ruling classes. Our Party rejects this fundamentally and unequivocally. Comrade Ibrahim tells us the following in such conditions and gives us a distinctive advice: “The slogan ‘unity of the land’ or ‘unity of the state’ is the slogan of the bourgeoisie and landlords of the dominant nation. The communists must distinguish between the slogan of the ‘unity of the working class and the working people’ of every nationality and the slogan of the ‘unity of the land and the state’. Otherwise, they suddenly fall into parallel with the nationalists of the dominant nation.” We reject the discourse of “unity of the land and the state”, even if it comes from the Kurdish National Movement, without guaranteeing the Kurdish nation’s national rights, including the right to establish a state. We declare once again that such a discourse of unity is equivalent to falling into the same parallel with the dominant nation nationalism and chauvinism and that from the Communist perspective, we will continue the struggle until the Kurdish Nation gains the Right to Self-Determination.
Again, we argue that the approach that there is no need for a party, which is the vanguard and leading organization for social and national liberation, is to leave the oppressed ill-equipped, dispersed and deprived of liberation. For the revolution, for the liberation of the people or the oppressed nation, we grasp it as a vital and historical responsibility to act like an enemy against the enmity that has enslaved it and considers it necessary to exploit it for its own class interest and to create a dictatorship. This historically established situation and reality will disappear only when those conditions disappear. Against this, in order to organize revolution and liberation, the formation and maintenance of the revolutionary party based on the interests of the people and its illegal structure is a guarantee for victory. The opposite will bring not victory but defeat. Comrade Ibrahim took his steps and realized his concentration by understanding the historical role of the communist party for liberation and ultimate victory. The ideological and liquidationist attacks that there is no need for a pioneering and leading organization, an illegal and warrior party, have been going on in many ways and in various forms. Now that the national movement has dissolved itself with the declaration that “a historical period is over”, this ideological attack will deepen even more, considering its power and possibilities, its level of influence. Against this, our Party will meticulously preserve its pioneering organizational quality and will struggle to set out this historical and political need clear against the ideological influence that will spread on this axis.
Our Party argues that the route of revolution and liberation in the conditions of the country requires “armed struggle from beginning to end”. The war strategy determined by the international proletariat for liberation in semi-colonial and semi-feudal countries is the protracted People’s War. It is the organization and arming of the people, organizing and fighting them from guerrilla to army. Developments in the world, the situation in the region, the positioning of the Turkish rulers reveal the armed struggle as a greater need for the liberation of the people and the oppressed Kurdish nation. It is a clear fact that a people without arms and an army is at the mercy of its executioner. This fact is seen in the oppression, massacres and massacres that the oppressed people are subjected to when they demand their rights and want to protect their interests. Our Party rejects from the front the approach that the period of armed struggle is over in conditions when the imperialists and their servant reactionary states are in brutal attacks on the oppressed peoples and nations and the political cleavage is more pronounced. This corresponds to an attitude that will serve the reactionary classes to realize their interests more easily. There are two ways in which the rulers can more easily maintain their exploitative and oppressive regimes.
The first is to leave the people disorganized and dispersed, and the second is to realize the armament monopoly. We declare once again that “if a people has no army, it has nothing”. The liquidationist current, which rejects this and tends to destroy the idea of armed struggle, will intensify more in the coming period and will put the masses under this siege. Confronting this wave is the fundamental problem of the revolution and the struggle for the liberation of the people. The line built by Comrade Ibrahim gives our party this power and attitude.

The Turkish state is trying to adapt to imperialist aggression and war-mongering in the most appetizing way. Especially in the Middle East, it keeps its military forces ready to adapt to the orientation of US imperialism. The AKP-MHP fascist clique is attacking non-stop to strengthen the “home front”. It turns the disorganization and disorganization of the people into an opportunity and ruthlessly usurps rights. It darkens the future and tries to extinguish hope. On the one hand, the AKP-MHP fascist clique hypocritically sings peace songs with the Kurds, on the other hand, it escalates the clique struggle with trustees and diploma cancelations. On March 19, the attack on the CHP mobilized the accumulated anger and reaction of the people and youth against the AKP-MHP. The people and youth took to the streets saying “the solution is not in the ballot box but on the street”. Sleeping energy mobilized. They demanded freedom. They demanded democracy. It challenged political oppression. It revealed the tendency to struggle against deprivation, poverty and poverty. The people said “stop” to the confinement of the opposition to parliament against the attacks and took this stance to the streets and squares. It is under these condition that we remember and embrace Comrade Ibrahim. We commemorate a Communist who devoted himself to the liberation of the people and drew the path of liberation. In his footsteps and on the route he set, our party has come to this day for 53 years, breathless, relentless and paying great prices. Let us not forget that it is its continuity that gives water its strength. Our party has not lost its continuity, consistency and persistence in its war line, in its claim to organize the revolution, even if it weakens, defeats, or fails. This continuity is undoubtedly our strength. Leaning on this, we continue our claim to raise the struggle with our belief in victory without running away from the problems, without covering our reality. Our claim is undoubtedly a product of a strong commitment to the line drawn by Comrade Ibrahim. We reject the approach that deals with failure by distrusting his line. His line is an antidote to the ideological attacks and the liquidationist current we face today.
